Huge pleasure and interest as one can see changes every day in the orchard. On many of the apples where branches were headed there are green leaves. The Gravensteins have no green leaves but are bud opening. The pear buds are opening out and the cherry buds likewise. Today the first cherry blossom appeared on the tree at the western end of the row. The Santa Rosa plum in full blossom. The Anzac peach covered in pink buds that opening. The apricot flowers are irregular and thin.
Today mulched second cherry and did Blood & bone on the. This is a change from my normal Rapid raiser and I supplemented it with potash as per Peter Cundall. Basically 9 parts Blood & bone to 1 part potash. Found one 20 kg bag of b&b did most of the orchard.
