We have finished harvesting the potatoes by digging over the potato patch and found a very good collection of potatoes (of course with some of them with a fork in them) and left it ready to have horse manure spread.  This patch will have pumpkins next season, so it will enjoy the richness of the horsemanure.

Where the pumpkins have been I have started to plant the green manure -a mixture of seeds that Magill grain store mixed up for me-  barley, tick beans …

We have also planted some more broad beans but as we let them fruit I am not sure how effectively the nitrogen is fixed in the soil by these.
