Back from a fabulous red centre holiday and into the garden.
some leaf Provençal that I had potted as seed and left in the greenhouse has grown into lovely big seedlings. So I cut them out of the purple pots and popped the into the soil. I cut them out because something I read while I was away (maybe in Lab Girl) argued that the root that comes through the bottom of the pot is the strong one and should be treated as precious, not just broken off.
then Sue Mac, Becca and I picked up the weeding inthe mandala garden that Estelle and Becca had started. But no throwing away of the onion weed! Becca has an entrepreneurial project to sell it to cafes – one cafe wants to pickle it!
we finished weeding and mulching the silver beet, broccoli and the new strawberry bed.
