Ice in the bottom of the wheelbarrow confirmed the perception of Sue Mac, Estelle and I that the sun may be shining but it is not yet warming.
However Spring has officially started and I am keen to get some peas planted. So, having read Peter Cundall’s advice (attached) we set about creating a trench and filling it with straw from the chook house before adding dolomite lime and blood and bone. Then added gypsum to the clay soil with a bit of old chicken poo and covered the straw. It can settle for a couple of days now before we plant our peas.
